Hello Samhitans,

As we gear up to celebrate one of the biggest Indian festivals-Durga Puja- with gaiety and fervor, we invite you to unleash your creative instincts and contribute to making our annual publication, SAMHITA Magazine 2024-‘Sanskriti’, richer.

Like every year, we encourage participation from all ages, so grab your pens, paintbrushes, or cameras to exhibit your creative best.

Sanskriti 2024 would be incomplete without your participation.

Entries can be in the form of the following:

1. Short stories

2. Poetries

3. Fiction/non-fiction write-ups

4. Essays

5. Travelogues

6. Excerpts from diaries, etc.

7. Crosswords and Puzzles

8. Nature Photography, or portraits ( No personal photographs)

9. Drawings, Paintings, or other works of art suitable for publication.

Some key points to remember:

Everyone, irrespective of age, is welcome to send in contributions.

All articles/essays/travelogues/excerpts from diaries and poems written in English should be typed out and sent over email.

Articles in any other Indian regional language other than English should be submitted in PDF format. Handwritten articles will not be accepted.

All articles must be limited to 1000 words.

Drawings must be made on a clear A-4 size sheet, scanned, and emailed.

Please include a brief writer’s bio, not exceeding 2 or 3 lines. If the contributor is below 18, his/her age is encouraged to be mentioned.

Dear Friends,
Samhita is inviting all members to submit creative pursuits for

publication in our annual SAMHITA E-Magazine 2021. We decided to rename our magazine to “Shirsendu ” honoring our beloved President and friend Shirsendu Mukherjee, whom we lost this year.
It’s time again to don your creative hat and express it through the art of writing.

Don’t worry about grammar or tenses, don’t worry about good or bad writing – we will take care of those. Just pick up the pen and write whatever you feel you want to share.
This is also a great platform to encourage your kids to pen down their ideas and experiences.

The participations can be in the form of :

• Short stories,Poems, fictions, essays, travelogue, excerpts from diaries, Research Paper, Documentary etc.
• Entries can be of English or any of the following languages Bengali/Hindi/Assamese/Oriya/any other Indian languages
• Crosswords and Puzzles
• Nature Photography ( No personal photographs)
• Drawings, Paintings or other works of art suitable for publication.

It is however, pertinent to observe certain ground rules:

• Everyone, irrespective of age, is entitled to send in contributions.
• All articles/fictions/essays/travelogues/excerpts from diaries and poems in English should be typed out and sent over email.
• Those in any other Indian language and not English, should preferably be submitted in soft copy PDF format. Handwritten articles will not be accepted.
• All articles/fictions/essays/travelogues/excerpts from diaries must not exceed four pages.
• Drawings must be on a clear A-4 size sheet – Scanned and emailed.
• Please include a brief bio data of the writer, not exceeding 2 or 3 lines. If the writer is below 18 years, his/her age must be mentioned.
